ABOUT ME (Olga)
Hi, I’m Olga — a passionate language coach and grammar nerd.
I was born in the former USSR, which made me bilingual from birth, with Russian and Romanian as my two mother tongues. Both of my parents were learning English and often listened to audio courses, which sparked my interest in languages at a very young age.
At school, I became interested in German and decided to study it as an extracurricular activity. Having Polish roots inspired me to later immigrate to Poland, where I mastered Polish. There, I developed an interest in Dutch, which felt quite understandable to me thanks to my knowledge of German.
After eventually settling in the Netherlands, I also learned Ukrainian, as the schools I’ve worked with had many Ukrainian clients.
Since 2015, I’ve been teaching people from all over the world. Around that time, I graduated with a degree in English philology in Poland. Back then, I worked at Polish hospitals and planned to pursue a medical career. However, I started teaching at a school in the evenings, and that experience completely changed my path. I felt I could help people much more as a teacher. Seeing happy faces and watching my students overcome their language barriers gave me tremendous satisfaction.
I also handled various written and oral translations across different language pairs.
My teaching experience has never been limited to schools. I’ve worked with many private clients who had specific learning needs, including people with dyslexia, dysorthographia, and other learning challenges. That’s why I always dreamed of using my skills in a more flexible, personalized way. I knew I could do more than just traditional teaching, so I found and successfully completed a professional course in Neurolanguage Coaching® to deepen my ability to help others.
Today, I’m based in the Netherlands and speak seven languages. I mainly teach Dutch to speakers of other languages, and I also teach English and Polish.
Privately, I’m a mom to a 4-year-old Dutch girl, Mascha, who speaks only Dutch — but she understands plenty of Russian, English, and Polish words.
